In our launch year, OPYC members served an estimated 250 community service hours by volunteering at 10 unique community activities! With 45 members and counting, our neighborhood youth organization is growing and is poised to make another significant impact through service and leadership in 2020!
More fun experiences are scheduled for the coming year. We will host our 2nd Annual “Giving Thanks Potluck” for Olmos Park city, mayor, city council, fire and police staffs on Nov. 25 at 11am at the Fire Station. We will also lend a hand at our city’s 2nd annual Sip & Shop event taking place at participating retailers on McCullough on Dec. 5 and of course, we will help with Fiesta and 4th of July events, too, among others.
Olmos Park Youth Commission is registered is a 501c3 nonprofit that focuses on service, leadership, community building and enterprise for its youth members ages 11-18 years old (5th-12th grade) who live in or adjacent to the city of Olmos Park.
