Members of Olmos Park Youth Commission are coming together to launch OPYC’s 2nd annual Sports Equipment Collection Drive benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio.
We are seeking the following items during this summer collection drive. Scour your closets and cupboards for gently used items that deserving youth may be able to use. Please do your best to donate items that are clean and without dirt or stains. We understand some wear and tear is unavoidable.
ITEMS
Sports balls, ball bags, helmets, pads, tees, shin-guards/knee pads, protective wear, cleats, golf shoes, goggles, swimming fins and paddles, bats, golf clubs, lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks, field hockey sticks, rackets, ball racks, disc or triangle cones, agility hurdles, small pitching nets, soft dodgeballs, sports gloves, duffle bags for sports gear and mats. Please no “toy” sports-themed items.
BENEFITING PHILANTHROPY
The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio changes lives through high-quality afterschool and summer programs in a safe, affordable, and fun environment. BGCSA serves kids ages 6 to 18 years old at six Clubhouses and 37 extended day programs open throughout the school year. In the school districts we serve, 72 percent of the students are at-risk of dropping out of school and 40 percent are living in poverty. Many do not have the resources or role models to help them achieve their full potential.
